Reporting Help

Description

(View Results) From this screen you will view responses, create item frequency reports and filter data, clear results, and export data as a text file.

Survey Responses: As survey respondents complete a survey you will see the number of responses change. Survey Responses only show the number of completed surveys submitted. To see the number change during survey administration, click on your Internet browser’s Refresh button.

You will use several buttons on this screen including Clear Results, Item Frequency, and Export

(Clear Results) If you wish to clear results from a survey you can use this button to do so. BE CAREFUL! Once survey results have been deleted you will not be able to retrieve them. CorporateSurvey.com does back up its databases daily, but there will be a charge to retrieve any data that you have accidentally deleted.

(Item Frequency) The item frequency report is a real-time reporting tool that provides a summary of survey results. The item frequency report provides descriptives and graphical displays that are useful for describing many types of variables. The report is ordered numerically corresponding to the questions on the survey.

Response Percent: Refers to the percent (%) of respondents who selected a particular response option.

Response Total: Refers to the actual number of respondents who selected a particular response option.

The item frequency report also summarizes open-ended responses. For an open-ended question you will see the link View Responses Click on this link to view the open-ended responses. The responses will appear in a new browser window.

(Filter Results) The item frequency report also provides an opportunity to filter survey responses. For example, it may be beneficial to view an item frequency report for a particular work location, by gender, etc. for comparison purposes. You have the ability to filter data by any question that has a fixed set of response options to choose from.

  1. You will be asked to select the question to use as a filter variable.
  2. You will be asked to select a single response option to use as the filter criteria.
  3. You will then click on the button APPLY FILTER

Your new report will then be generated and the filter criteria will be shown at the top of the report.

(Email Report Link) Click this button to send a link to the item frequency report. You may wish to share the survey results with other individuals within the organization using this feature. On this screen you will need to complete certain fields:

(Export) Often, users wish to export a data file that can then be imported into another program such as Excel, SPSS, Statistica, SAS, etc for the purposes of running more robust statistical analyses. Our system enables users to export a tab-delimited text file (.txt) that can easily be imported into other programs. Exporting a data file can take several minutes depending upon the amount of data collected. Your datafile will automatically open in a new browser window and the data will be displayed. To save this text file to your PC, go to File and then Save on your browser menu.
